Lauretta Onochie Under Attack For Saying Cyber-criminals Were sponsoring #EndSars

Nigerians have reacted with anger at comments from aide to president Buhari on social media Lauretta Onochie that the #EndSars campaign was spearheaded by cyber-criminals.

Reports of brutality and extortion from the notorious Special anti-robbery squad (SARS) led to renewed called for their dissolution with the #EndSars campaign.

However the media aide notorious for her controversial takes blamed internet fraudster for the campaign.

She tweeted yesterday:

“I have no doubt that there are some staff of SARS who are unprofessional in their dealings with d public, same way we have unprofessionalism in d Army,  Mainstream Police, Customs, Civil Service,  Public Service, traders, Lawyers, Doctors, journalists, teachers, pastors, etc.

“But what is going on now, is a COORDINATED ATTACK BY CYBER CRIMINALS joined by UNSUSPECTING INNOCENT CITIZENS. 

This is not the first time. We must stand by our national institutions while working to improve their effectiveness. Thats what patriotism is about.

NO SENTIMENTS.”

Her view of the situation have however not gone down well with Nigerians.

Renowned activist, Sega links, in a vicious attack, blamed Lauretta’s comments on demonic attacks on her thinking.

Some others feel Lauretta is anti-people

Many also feel Lauretta is only a reflection of the lack of substance in President Buhari’s cabinet.

Many feel her actions are ill-befitting of a person of her age considering she also has kids.
