Queen Of England Congratulates Nigeria On Independence Anniversary

Nigeria's former colonial ruler, Queen Elizabeth II, has sent a letter congratulating Nigeria on its 60th Independence anniversary.

Queen Elizabeth II has conveyed her good luck message to President Muhammadu Buhari as Nigeria celebrates it’s 60th independence.

Consequently, Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, released a statement from the British High Commission in Nigeria.

In it, the Queen also extended her warm greetings to the good people of Nigeria.

“It gives me great pleasure to offer my warmest congratulations on the 60th anniversary of Nigeria’s Independence,” she said.

“The United Kingdom and Nigeria benefit from strong and enduring ties as Commonwealth partners through shared history.

“These are bonds that I hope and believe will flourish long into the future.”

The nationwide protests by Nigerians to end the operations of officers of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad of the Nigerian Police force has not shown any sign of waning even as it nears it's second week.
